We have to work on processing information.

How we choose to process information will shape how we move as a collective into the future - in unison or with division.

Many people who are consuming the propaganda are unaware of the information they are processing. Rather than looking further into the source, targeted audience, or intended purpose information has been taken as fact. This choice to trust the information as truth is dangerous. Giving away your right to choose what to think may be closer than we’ve imagined.

Instead of critically thinking about the nuances of situations - the first poster you see is the deciding factor of what to believe (truth if they’re on your side, lie if they’re opposite of your side). Either way, the information was processed as fact or fiction, before further information was gathered to making the decision.

A Call to Action

We should all encourage individual ownership of critical thinking and seeking common ground with those who have opposing views. Research the source of information. Is the source reliable? Is this source providing objective or subjective information?

Entities who presents themselves as informative must follow a standard of non-biased practices - broadcast networks, podcasts, social media influencers.

Consequences for disinformation should be swift, stern and non-negotiable. There is no room for intentional misinterpretation of information on a large scale - bot farms must be taken down and those who are hosted in the untied states should result in investigations ( including financial audits). Politicians who use disinformation to confuse/abuse trust of constituents must be penalized and banned from all levels of government. Political contributions should be capped at the max annual salary for federal minimum wage. Politicians should be paid federal minimum wage to understand bills as the least of their constituents.
